Coronavirus cases multiplying in Pakistan, for now lockdown might be the only way!


Daily new coronavirus cases in Pakistan
Pakistan is experiencing the worst situation at present, there is panic and rapid increase in coronavirus (covid-19) cases in a week. Infected cases toll increased to 2,110, 26 died and 82 people recovered.  The provincial governments have announced lock down one by one for fourteen days at least to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Provincial governments have made multiple quarantine centers, field hospitals and identified reserved buildings to deal with any kind of unpleasant situation. Shops providing utility items, medicines will remain open. All other markets, cinemas, Parks, Restaurants and offices will remain close.

All the provincial governments have deployed military in aid of civil power in accordance with Article 245 of constitution.

It is important to contain the spread of Covid-19 at the start. In this way, precious lives can be saved. Pakistan being not at par like others in providing health facilities as compared to China, Italy and Malaysia. Covid-19 pandemic outbreak could have disastrous impact, it is better and wise to be proactive rather than reactive.

Government and Citizens :


Moreover, economically Pakistan has limited resources and high poverty level, lockdown is not a permanent option. Government needs to make sure provision of utility items of basic need in the shops to avoid any other panic in a community.

On the other hand, it is important for citizens to show responsibility and follow the instructions strictly, to achieve the goals of lockdown. Otherwise, containment of Covid-19 pandemic might become elusive dream.

Federal government and all the provincial governments need to formulate a policy for containment of Covid-19 pandemic other than lockdown and take necessary steps to normalize the situation.
